If you ever find yourself suspecting that life is really awful, you have to banish that thought from your head. You need to remind yourself that life could be great. It is important to remember that it doesn’t take anything but a shift in outlook to make things better. That shift is mostly not accepting the belief that things are awful.
When you make the slight shift from thinking that things are awful to thinking that things only seem awful, then you are half way there. When you see that things only seem awful, but at a more fundamental level they are ok, then you are well on your way to realizing greatness.
Things feel bad all the time. That is pain. The ability to endure pain and maintain perspective, that is greatness.
